| The EMERGE LIFE SKILLS/CASE MANAGEMENT AND COUNSELING PROGRAM |
| The EMERGE Life Skills/Case Management and
Counseling component is designed to help participants find positive
meaning and purpose in life through positive programming. Participants are
challenged, supported and held accountable to set and meet goals that will
improve their lives, their family life and community relationships. The program
includes case management, life goal assessment and planning. Life Skills
programming is designed to assist participants in meeting the multitude of
challenges that exist with being released from prison. Learning good coping
skills allows individuals to meet every day challenges in a positive acceptable
fashion. The "Life Wheel" is a personal assessment tool that provides
participants with a clear view of their strengths and weaknesses. It allows the
individual to create a personal "Life Plan" to help them achieve a specific set
of goals. Individuals are encouraged to meet with a Case Manager on a regular
basis and participate in the vast array of Life Skill Classes the program
offers. |
