SCCAP coordinates our programs and intiatives in a service line structure. This allows us to ensure programs work together to benefit the families we serve and allows us to spread best practices.
SCCAP's Family and Asset Development Programs
These programs work with the family to design effective interventions or changes that can help the family build long term stability. All programs except Weatherization include case management and ongoing support to assist the family in setting and meeting their goals.
Weatherization involves a comprehensive assessment of a home's energy usage efficiency and follows evidence based protocols to improve energy usage for the family.
SCCAP's Education and Employment Programs
These programs support a family as they work to build their skills, obtain employment and then advance in their career. Whether an individual needs to develop soft skills or hard skills and education or a family needs the very tangible support of quality early learning programs for their children so they can work, SCCAP can assist a them on their journey to a livable wage for their family.
SCCAP's Health and Nutrition Programs
It is hard to focus on developing an effective future story if you or your children are hungry. These programs work to meet the very basic needs of a family - access to healthy food.
SCCAP works to make changes on two levels. We work to help families create a new future story and then we provide appropriate support to help them reach their goals. Equally important, we work together with out partners and families to be a catalyst for system and community change so that all families can thrive.
years serving our communities
SCCAP started in 1965 as part of the war on poverty. Over the years we have worked hard to meet the changing needs of our community. As the needs in our counties change, SCCAP evolves to meet those needs.
programs and initiatives
SCCAP administers more than 25 programs and initiatives primarily across Adams and Franklin County. These programs work together to achieve results.
SCCAP touches the lives of more than 13,000 families. We support the social infrastructure so that low wage earners and seniors on a fixed income can thrive.
