South Central Community Action Programs provides (SCCAP) operates a wide range of programming in support of its mission to empower, engage, and cultivate community action, creating innovative and effective solutions to end poverty. Learn more about our services below!

 

  • Support for individuals and families to build stability, strengthen relationships, and achieve personal goals.

    • Family Services - person-centered coaching that focuses on your family’s strengths, goals, and needs. We help you navigate challenges and build a path forward.

    • Support Circles - a group-based program that provides encouragement, financial education, and community support to help you grow long-term stability.

  • Resources to help children thrive and support parents in providing safe, healthy environments.

    • Early Learning Resource Center (ELRC) - find and afford quality child care so you can work, attend school, or pursue opportunities.

    • Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) Program - nutrition education, healthy foods, and breastfeeding support for pregnant women, new mothers, and children under 5 years old.

  • Help with finding, keeping, or improving safe and stable housing.

    Homeless Shelters - safe, temporary housing and supportive services for individuals and families in crisis.

    Homeless Assistance Program - assistance to prevent homelessness or quickly regain stable housing.

    Apartment Project - affordable housing opportunities for individuals and families working toward stability.

  • Ensuring access to nutritious food and essential daily needs.

    • Food Pantries - free groceries and essential food items for individuals and families in need.

    • The Gleaning Project - collecting fresh surplus food and distributing it to the community to reduce waste and increase access.

  • Helping families live in safer, more energy-efficient homes.

    • Weatherization Services - home improvements that reduce energy costs, improve comfort, and increase efficiency. Funding available through utility company referrals.

  • Collaborative efforts that strengthen communities and improve systems of support.

    • @Home in Adams and Franklin County works with partners to improve housing access, policies, and community solutions.

    • Franklin Together Coalition - support and resources for individuals returning to the community after incarceration.
